David is an experienced Head of Exposure and Portfolio Management with a demonstrable history of working in the probabilistic and deterministic areas of catastrophe risk management. He has over 20 years of modeling experience in many facets of the (re)insurance industry and is experienced in multiple regulatory regimes, in particular the PRA, Lloyd's, the BMA, FINMA, IAIS and Solvency II. As a cat risk calibration expert, David has designed and implemented a number of end-to-end solutions for property, casualty and liability, cyber risk management and data capture solutions. David has a comprehensive modeling and climate risk knowledge and has been consulted on model completeness frameworks and cat risk solutions for the entire market.
In his current role, Risk Director in the Insurance Consulting and Technology arm of WTW, David is responsible for leading ESGs, Cat Validation and Calibration as well as end-to-end solutions for many clients. David previously held the role of Chair of the LMA’s Exposure Management Working Group (EMWG), Co-Chair of the LMA Climate Risks Working Group (CRWG), and was a member of the LMA Cyber Risk Strategy Group (CRSG).
David is a frequent contributing author to industry papers, reports and market guidance such as the ABI “Non Modelled Risks” report, Counterfactual Risk Analysis, Stress and Scenario Testing guidance, and various cyber risk aggregation papers. David is a speaker/panelist at various industry events and conferences and participates in a number of industry working groups and panels. David earned his ISCM CCRMP designation in 2021.
