Head of Catastrophe Management, Chubb Overseas General (COG), London
Mark joined Chubb (formerly Ace) in 2012 as Head of Catastrophe Risk Management for Ace European Group and became Head of Catastrophe Management for Chubb Overseas General Property (COG) in 2015 and Chubb Overseas General in 2021. His team is responsible for the parameterization, pricing and accumulation management of Chubb’s international catastrophe risk portfolios. Mark’s particular focus is the development of portfolio optimization metrics, real-time analytics and innovative MI tools, for deployment across the underwriting regions and to senior management.
Mark entered the catastrophe management industry in 1998, starting up the Brockbank syndicate’s catastrophe risk management function at Lloyd’s of London. During his 14 years at XL Capital (formerly Brockbank), Mark was responsible for the parameterization of natural and man-made catastrophe risk across both insurance and reinsurance divisions. His particular focus was on developing catastrophe risk metrics for previously non-modeled risk as Aggregation Manager-Specialty Practice Leader.
Mark holds an Honours degree in Business from Brunel University, specializing in Quantitative Business Analytics and is an active member of the ISCM.
